InSinkErator Badger Food Waste Disposer

The Installation

The installation is hassle free. We had a Waste King disposer installed in our office and we had to remove it. We just had to remove the disposer and fit in with new disposer.

You just have to twist off the old disposer and fit the new one. The quick lock sink mounts lock the disposer nicely, and you breeze through the installation process.

The Motor

On paper, the motor looks powerful. The ½ HP motor should handle most food leftovers. And it does exactly that. We threw apple, pears and since one of our co-workers even a mango leftover and it handled everything quite well. There was no leakage and it almost liquefied the food waste.

Help the Environment

Garbage Disposals help dispose of food waste which would have otherwise made their way to landfills. A recent study has shown that 5.6 metric ton of food waste is present in the United States.

John Oliver, from LastWeek Tonight, in one of his shows the extent of food waste in our country. Liquefying food waste can reduce this substantially. Disposing of food waste can be of huge benefit to the country.

The InSinkErator Badger 5 uses galvanized grind steel chamber, which from the outside looks quite durable. But most garbage disposals work well in their warranty periods.

For this product, you get a 2 year in house warranty, which seems quite promising. We spoke to various customers who have been using this for over 2 years and this is what they had to say.

The disposer starts showing leakage issues with leaking. But that depends on how you handle this. If you want to increase the life of you need to handle your garbage disposal and would have to observe some precautions.

If you take care of everything and observe carefulness, this disposal will last for 5-6 years. It won’t last longer than that.
